On Friday 28th October 2022 The Kiambu County Governor Hon. Kimani Wamatangi inspected Water and sanitation projects in Kiambu County.

The Governor inspected the ksh. 24B Karimenu II Dam Water Supply Project which is set to benefit more than 1.1 million residents of Gatundu, Ruiru, Juja and parts of Nairobi with clean water supply.

The Governor also inspected the construction of the 23 million liter tank at Jacaranda which will serve the residents of Ruiru Town, Membley, Murera, Theta, Kahawa Sukari/ Wendani, Mwihoko, and Kiu. He also inspected the 5 million liter tank at Juja expected to serve the residents of Juja, Juja farm, and Kalimoni.

During the inspection, the Governor said that he was impressed that the project had been completed ahead of time and he is confident that upon completion, the residents of Kiambu County will have an adequate water supply.

Governor H.E Kimani Wamatangi was accompanied by Deputy Governor Roselyn Kirika, MP Ruiru Hon. Simon Kingara, AWWDA Board Members Mathew Macharia, and Caroline Mugwe, AWWDA CEO Eng. Michael Thuita, CEC Water & Environment Mr. David Kuria, MD Ruiru Juja Water Mr. Simon Muraya, MD Gatundu Water Mr. Patrick Mwangi, MD Thika Water Mr. Moses Kinya among other senior officials.
